Origins

In September 1989, the idea of a statewide quilt organization was presented at the Michigan Quilt Conference in Lansing, MI. Jane Duvall chaired the steering committee of twenty enthusiastic members. Through their efforts, the Michigan Quilt Network was created. With the purpose of advancing the art of quilts and quilt making, through education, communication and preservation, MQN officially began its journey in 1991. The organization is a nonprofit group with IRS 501(c)3 status.
